American Doubles
Monday 5th May. This is an informal turn-up-and-play competition for adults starting at 10am. Bring a picnic. Any children can play on the field. Bring bats and balls to entertain them.

Club Nights
These resume on May 2nd  from 6.30pm and continue every Friday until the tournament. At least a couple of committee members will be on hand each night. There was some wet weather last year but the nights when we did play generally ended at The Eyston Arms and were a disastrous start to the weekend, if you were hoping to get much done.

Social
Our ball last year was a sell-out success and raised significant funds, thanks in large part to several generous donors, so that we don’t have to come and ask you for more cash this year. We may, however, hold other social evenings, a quiz night or curry night, for example, just for fun, if you want them. These would only have to cover their costs.

TOURNAMENT 2008

This year’s tournament (adults, juniors and under 10s) will be on July 5th. I can’t think of anything even vaguely funny to say about it because it is genuinely such a great day.

Best thing is to get knocked out early, have a liquid lunch (or bring a packed one if you actually intend to eat) and then get stuck into the Pimms and burgers at ‘tea’ time. After the finals it’s rounders, apparently. (Although I don’t think they let you swing bats and throw balls at The Eyston Arms, so that’s a bit of a worry.)
